WHERE: Vorhoelzer Forum
DATE: 03.08.2019; 17:00 - 19:30
To raise awareness on climate change the following three movies will be shown:
TOMORROW – Take concrete steps to a sustainable future
Instead of showing all the worst that can happen, this globetrotting documentary focuses more on solutions than problems. Tomorrow (Demain) provides a comprehensive look at ways in which activists, organizers and everyday citizens are trying to make the world a better, greener, more sustainable place. The movie is Co-directed by ecological rights advocate Cyril Dion and actress-filmmaker Melanie Laurent (Inglourious Basterds, Now You See Me).
ANOTE’S ARK – By Matthieu Rytz
The climate-change crisis often seems so vast and remote for many people that it's difficult to assess an appropriate level of concern or response. This documentary takes a look at the devastating effects that climate change has on the people living on Kiribati, a low-lying atoll in the Pacific.
A THIRSTY WORLD
A European family of four consumes 140,000 litres of water every week. Today, against a backdrop of sharply increasing demand, growth in the world population and the growing impact of an unsettled climate, water has become one of the most precious natural resources of our planet. This documentary combines French photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s aerial photography with down-to-earth messages. It is a mélange that calls attention to problems of water security on a global scale.
